Near where Cheryl and I live is the San Pasqual Valley Battlefield. Battle Day, presented once each year, focuses on the interpretation and the commemoration of the Battle of Pasqual: the bloodiest battle fought in California during the U.S. - Mexican War, which eventually lead to California attaining statehood in 1850.
There was a lot going on at Battle Day, including lots of cars, candle making, adobe brick making, a blacksmith, period music and dancing, and of course a mock battle. When we drove in we were directed to our parking spot by Boy Scouts.
Just before we left I looked up onto the hill and saw this scene. I shot. I think I see only one person in the image noticing that I was photographing.
This image is rich with detail. All kinds of people...many different moods and activities...the Boy Scouts having an adventure.
