Gretna Green Way, Escondido, California. 28 March 2009.
This is an image of where home is. Technically, it's just slightly to the left of center. In a more general sense it's near Escondido, on the side of a southwest facing hill. My wife was raised in this home. We now live in the guest house. There are Citrus trees on the property, as well as Oak, Palm, Eucalyptus, conifers, Juniper, Cyprus, Bottle Brush, Pyracantha, and lots of other smaller scrubs.
All of this is far from adequate water. San Diego County has enough water to support about 220,000 people. Currently there are 2,000,000 million+ people living here...so water is imported from the Colorado River and from the California Water Project.
We live very near the San Dieguito River Park, which is a park that is attempting to build a connected trail through the entire San Dieguito watershed (about 55 miles).
This image is also a record of the neighborhood before the next fire.
